The Tarot Meditation class offered by Fish in a Tree is a unique experience that combines the ancient art of tarot reading with the practice of meditation. During the class, participants will be guided through a series of meditative exercises that use tarot cards as a focal point for introspection and reflection. By working with the images and symbols of the tarot, participants can gain insight into their subconscious mind and explore their innermost thoughts and emotions. The class is suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike, and no prior knowledge of tarot is necessary. By the end of the class, participants will have a deeper understanding of the tarot and its potential as a tool for self-discovery and personal growth.

In this 45-minute session, we come together each week to explore a diverse range of self-care activities and topics, tailored to empower and support participants on their unique journeys. Through guided practices, engaging discussions, and a welcoming community, we delve into mindfulness techniques, creative expressions, emotional regulation, and more. Our sessions also provide essential tools for navigating sensory sensitivity, offering sensory overload solutions and executive functioning supports. Beyond this, we dive into the realm of general self-care and wellness, covering topics like nutrition, cultivating healthy habits, and embracing hobbies and special interests as avenues for self-expression and joy. Join us as we create a safe space to foster self-discovery, resilience, and connection, ultimately cultivating a deeper understanding of ourselves and embracing the beauty of our neurodiversity.


Interactive Journaling

The Interactive Journaling class offered by Fish in a Tree is designed for individuals who want to explore the power of journaling as a tool for self-reflection and personal growth. Interactive journaling involves prompts, exercises, and activities that encourage participants to delve deep into their thoughts and feelings. Through this form of journaling, participants can gain insight into their strengths and challenges, set goals, and develop strategies for coping with stress and challenges. The benefits of interactive journaling extend beyond the journaling itself, as the process can improve mood, boost self-esteem, and increase self-awareness. By the end of the class, participants will have developed their own interactive journaling practice and will have a deeper understanding of themselves and their needs.

The Sensory Story-Time Experience, presented by Fish in a Tree and hosted by the New Orleans Public Library, offers a unique and inclusive program designed for neurodivergent children and their families. Through captivating storytelling and interactive sensory activities, this program creates a safe and engaging environment where children can explore the wonders of literature while engaging their senses. Each session features carefully selected books that celebrate neurodiversity, accompanied by sensory experiences that enhance the storytelling journey. This collaborative initiative aims to promote empathy, understanding, and acceptance of neurodiversity, fostering a love for reading and sensory exploration in the community.
