The EmpowerHer program from Fish in a Tree is a pioneering initiative designed to support and empower adult autistic women, focusing on those newly diagnosed or identified. This innovative program provides neuro-affirming kits with essential sensory-friendly tools like weighted blankets, sleep masks, Loop earplugs, and adult fidget tools, along with a comprehensive manual on sensory sensitivities and self-regulation. Additionally, EmpowerHer fosters a supportive community through a virtual support program that covers topics such as personal development, coping strategies, self-advocacy, and community engagement. By combining sensory tools with educational resources and community support, EmpowerHer enhances the overall well-being and empowerment of autistic women, addressing a significant gap in neurodiversity initiatives. This a unique program designed for children with sensory sensitivities, combining engaging storytelling with sensory-friendly play. Tailored to create a calm and welcoming environment, each session features carefully selected stories and activities that stimulate the senses in a gentle and enjoyable way. The program fosters a love for reading and creativity while accommodating individual sensory needs, ensuring every child can participate comfortably and confidently. Additionally, Sensory Storytime includes neuro-affirming parenting presentations, offering valuable insights and support for families. This program not only nurtures young minds but also provides a supportive space for families to connect and share experiences. Sensory Serenity is a transformative virtual program designed specifically for neurodivergent individuals, offering a unique blend of immersive sensory environments and gentle guided meditation. Accessible from anywhere you feel most comfortable, this innovative meditation practice provides a relaxing mental health break, promoting wellness and calm through carefully crafted sessions that encourage co-regulation and self-acceptance. Participants are invited to come as they are, un-masked and fully welcomed, into a virtual space that celebrates their individuality. You will be taken on an immersive guided meditation experience with guided imagery every step of the way, embarking on a journey of rich visualization. By focusing on creating a deeply relaxing atmosphere, Sensory Serenity fosters a sense of peace and well-being, making it an ideal practice for those seeking a nurturing and inclusive meditation experience. Sessions are led by a neurodivergent Zen Buddhist experienced in mindfulness techniques, guided imagery, and the ancient Zen practice of Zazen meditation, with occasional guest practitioners. When attending, please prepare a comfortable, relaxing space for your meditation which can be seated or enjoyed laying down. Feel free to bring a soothing warm beverage, blanket, heating pad, fidget tools, or anything else you might find comforting for these sessions.

This is a supportive and inclusive space for neurodivergent individuals to connect through literature. This unique book club focuses on fiction, non-fiction and self-help books related to neurodivergence written by neurodivergent authors, with each session dedicated to discussing several chapters of the current book. Facilitated by and for neurodivergent individuals, the club fosters engaging discussions, community building, and personal growth. Participants can expect a welcoming environment where they can share insights, deepen their understanding, and connect with like-minded readers. Fish in a Tree is proud to partner with Shrimp Fest 2025 to make it the most neuroinclusive and neuroaccessiblefestival in the history of the Gulf South. Through this collaboration, Fish in a Tree will implement groundbreaking accessibility features, including sensory-friendly zones, mobile sensory stations, and customizable sensory kits, ensuring that autistic and neurodivergent attendees feel welcomed and supported. Drawing from the vibrant cultural heritage of South Louisiana, Shrimp Fest 2025 will celebrate the region’s shrimping legacy and Cajun and Creole traditions while offering an inclusive festival experience for all. Guided by Fish in a Tree’s expertise in neurodiversity advocacy, the festival will include quiet hours, neurodivergent-led planning committees, and inclusive programming, creating a model for how festivals across the Gulf South can honor both their cultural roots and the diverse needs of their attendees. Together, Fish in a Tree and Shrimp Fest 2025 are setting a new standard for accessible and inclusive cultural celebrations.

Catawampus Counseling’s virtual body-doubling sessions offer a structured coworking session designed to boost productivity among neurodivergent individuals. Participants meet virtually to set their task intentions, work in focused intervals with an optional break, and share their progress at the end, fostering accountability and motivation. By leveraging the power of communal productivity, this program creates a supportive environment that helps participants initiate and complete tasks more effectively. Healing Haven for Heroes is a calming, in-person program offered at local New Orleans VFWs, designed to support veterans with PTSD through guided sensory meditation and relaxation techniques. Participants are provided with yoga mats, pillows, eye masks, weighted blankets, and a variety of sensory tools to create a soothing and restorative experience. Tailored specifically to address PTSD, the guided meditations and relaxation practices help veterans build resilience, reduce stress, and find moments of peace in a supportive and welcoming environment. Focus Flow is a dynamic program designed to support individuals with ADHD by offering practical tools, structured techniques, and community support to navigate challenges and embrace strengths. Participants engage in interactive workshops that explore strategies such as time management, emotional regulation, and task prioritization, tailored to the unique ADHD experience. The program incorporates body-doubling sessions for productivity, mindfulness exercises for grounding, and sensory-friendly tools like fidget aids and timers to enhance focus. With a mix of peer support, expert guidance, and hands-on resources, Focus Flow empowers participants to harness their creativity, build confidence, and thrive in daily life.
